When it comes to iPhone 4's RAM, there were not a few disputations, but now, iPhone 4 is confirmed that it is equipped with 512MB RAM.

As before, Apple did not disclose any details on specific technology standards such as processor frequency, memory capacity and so forth, except Apple A4 in the announcement of iPhone 4.

Different from other manufacturers, who usually making these data as the biggest selling point, Apple has the idea that to let users "forget" these technical terms, but focus on overall capabilities and the actual using experience. So, why upgrade to iPhone 4? Users may have the answers.

It is known that the first generation of iPhone (iPhone unlocking software recommended) and iPhone 3G both has the 128MB RAM, iPhone 3GS is upgrade to 256MB. Just because of this difference, iPhone 3G is disable to support multi-tasking when updating to iOS 4. By the way, people also put much attention on iPhone 4G vs. iPhone 3GS.

When it comes to iPhone 4's RAM, not a few disputations turned up before. In the works on dismantling the iPhone 4 leak prototype last month, people discovered that the carried Apple A4 processor number is no difference with iPad, so, the integrated RAM should also be 256MB.

Now, the official answer finally be founded. On one seminar called "iPhone OS advancement performance optimization" in WWDC 2010 hold on last week, Apple engineer had admitted to the software developers that, iPhone 4's RAM is 512MB. And this can be affirmed from that Apple registered developers have been available to download a full video of the seminar on Apple's Web site.

This difference in RAM also explains why iMovie (iMovie audio converter can convert any popular audio formats easily), the video edit software, only supports for iPhone 4, while other type including iPad and iPhone 3GS are disable to run it. Obviously, the basic reason lies in the performance difference brought about by RAM.
